Fathers and Daughters: A Powerful Relationship

On this Father’s Day, instead of writing about my father or my husband as a father, which I have already done, I wanted to expose you to three great YouTube Videos I came across on the important relationship between father and daughter.

1. The first one is a compilation of pictures of fathers and daughters from famous movies and television shows; it’s done very well and the song makes it a very emotional presentation:http://youtu.be/hUsP8sfHNYU

2. The second one is from an organization called Fathers and Daughters and their purpose is to emphasize what an important role men play in the lives of their daughters — the approval and love a girl feels from her father may give her the confidence and self-assurance needed to stop her from seeking superficial approval from boys she dates. It’s an excellent video that focuses on the voices of fathers as they discuss their roles in their daughter’s lives.
3. Third on the list is John Mayer’s “Daughters.” I always found this to be a particularly honest and raw song about how girls choose the same patterns they shared with their fathers. Our relationships with our parents affect our relationships with the men and women we align our lives with.

Have you found a great video on fathers and daughters you want to share with us? Provide the link!
Enjoy Father’s Day!
