Alaina Giordano, and NC mom of two children (ages 5 and 11) not only has to fight cancer, now she has to fight losing her children to an NC Judge who thinks that they are better off with their healthy but absentee and abusive father 700 miles away. Courts have no business taking children away from their mothers unless those mothers are found guilty of abuse. This is not an abusive woman; she is sick, but that does not make her inept at mothering and loving her children. This Judge, a woman no less, is wrong and is using her power to destroy a family that is already fragile. She should not have this kind of power.
Alaina Giordano and her children only have two weeks to appeal this ruling, so please go to the petition, SIGN IT, and pass it on. Today it’s Alaina Giordano, a breast cancer mom of two whose personal hurdles do not affect the machinations of our own lives; tomorrow it may be us — judges and governments taking away our children because we have cancer, or Parkinsons, or some other disease. This woman is already fighting cancer; she doesn’t need to fight losing her kids also.
