Tired of Weinergate? Why Not Run?

Will these guys ever learn?  There have been so many men in the news lately who are getting in trouble for plain old bad behavior and it’s time for change.  The Center for AmericanWomen in Politics puts out statistics each year concerning how many elected offices are held by women.  I was shocked to find out that there are still only six states with women governors.  Almost as bad, women are only 17% of the 112th U.S. Congress. Women have long been underrepresented in American politics and it’s time for that to change.

Organizations are popping up across the nation to encourage and support women candidates and it’s time to do something about these philandering men!  Have you ever thought about running for office but weren’t sure how to get started or how to raise money?  Check out Emily’s List.  This organization helps women raise political campaign funds and provides training to potential candidates and current elected officials on how to run an effective campaign.

Let’s face it ladies, if we want the Anthony Weiners and Governators of the world to keep running the world, we’re going to have to keep watching them on the news.  Let’s put a stop to all this bad coverage by taking our rightful place in American Politics.
